Our team recently was advised of an online scam trying to act as funeral directors and share livestream details on social media. The scam requests Credit Card details to view and download the livestream.
William Barrett and Sons is diligent about detecting and preventing scams to our families and asks for minimal information to leave a condolence message on a tribute. This is to prevent scammers from posting inappropriate content on tributes.
However, we will never ask you for credit card details to subscribe, participate, and watch our livestreams if the family permits them to be publicly available.
Our team are saddened that our community is being taken advantage of and will do all we can to minimise this happening to families in our care.
